B&B Theatres has opened its fourth MediaMation (MMI) MX4D theatre, this time at its flagship Liberty location in Kansas.
Liberty has a population of over 60,000 and is just 15 miles away from the Kansas City metropolitan area. The new immersive cinema is expected to provide a big draw for locals and visitors alike.
Over 250 guests from film studios including Paramount, Fox, Disney and Annapura attended the red carpet opening event. They were treated to cocktails and an in-depth tour of the new facility.
“It was an honour to be in the presence of such great attendees,” commented Heather Blair, Head of Cinema Sales for MMI. “We are proud to provide our MX4D system in their flagship theatre.”
Guests experienced the MX4D theatre’s full capabilities during a screening of Mad Max: Fury Road.
MX4D theatres shattered all attendance records
The cinema chain first installed MMI’s immersive entertainment technology back in 2017 in Shawnee and Lee’s Summit, Kansas. Within months, both locations had shattered all attendance records.

“We are excited to expand our partnership with MediaMation,” confirmed Brock Bagby, Executive Vice President of B&B Theatres. “MX4D allows us to continue to provide the latest in high-end entertainment for our communities.”
Family-owned and operated, B&B Theatres has 50 locations and over 400 screens across the United States, with theatres in Arkansas, Arizona, Kansas, Florida, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas.
