The new FECs will offer attractions inspired by Power Rangers, Transformers, My Little Pony and Connect4.

Saudi Arabia’s Al Hokair Group has partnered with Hasbro to launch a unique family entertainment centre (FEC) concept called Playocity across the kingdom.

Featuring Hasbro‘s popular brands, the first two Playocity venues will open soon. Further sites will launch in Saudi Arabia in the near future.

The new FECs will be home to attractions and experiences inspired by Power Rangers, Potato Head, Transformers, My Little Pony, Monopoly, Nerf and Connect4.

Mohamed Attia, Al Hokair Group’s general manager of entertainment, said the partnership is “part of the group’s strategy to develop new and unique entertainment concepts and experiences in the region and feeds into Saudi Arabia’s bigger tourism plans”.

Experiences inspired by Hasbro brands

The launch “will not only drive tourism within and to the kingdom but will give children and families an incredible experience to live in the worlds of their favourite Hasbro characters that they cannot find anywhere else”, said Attia.

Playocity locations will boast rides, coasters, carousels, soft play and laser tag across seven themed zones.

The Hungry Hungry Hippo zone is described as a ‘feeding frenzy’, while the Connect4 area will include the Connect4 Disc-O-Drop ride.

The Power Rangers zone will offer two rides (Megazord Battle Spinner and Jet Racers), and the My Little Pony area, called ‘Magical Equestria’, will include the Cloud Carousel.

The Tonka zone is a building site with diggers, cranes, dump trucks and bulldozers, the Transformers area features ‘Transformers Laser Combat’, and the Playocity Arcade is a colourful area with games and challenges.

“The new attraction will allow visitors to immerse themselves in fun and interactive activities based on fan-favourite Hasbro brands and characters,” said Matt Proulx, VP of location-based entertainment at Hasbro.

“Anyone who visits Playocity will surely have a one-of-a-kind experience and leave with memories that will last a lifetime.”
