ARCO/Murray, a leading design-builder specialising in national rollouts across a wide spectrum of industries, has commenced construction on a 98,000+ square foot family entertainment centre (FEC) for Cinergy Entertainment Group, the operator of some of the most highly-regarded entertainment centres in the US.
Named Cinergy Tall City, the venue in Midland, Texas, is set to open later this year and will be the operator’s most ambitious location to date. The destination will be Cinergy’s 10th location and its third real estate acquisition in the Midland-Odessa region.
Creating employment
In May, ARCO/Murray began work to transform the existing, disused movie theatre into a cinema entertainment centre and build an additional space to accommodate Cinergy Speedway Extreme Karting.
Cinergy Tall City will set the standard for entertainment in West Texas with attractions that include cutting-edge electric indoor karts on two tracks arranged across three levels, immersive escape rooms, boutique bowling lanes, delicious food, and advanced dine-in theatres.
The operator will hire 10 salaried managers and 20 supervisors for the new attraction. It will also relocate some employees from other sites in the US to Midland, and will be hiring to backfill.
Jeff Benson, co-founder and CEO of Cinergy, says: “We’ve been part of the Midland community for over a decade, and we’re proud to continue growing alongside it.
“We are grateful for the partnership and support of the Midland City Council, whose leadership and commitment helped make this project a reality. Their collaboration was instrumental in laying the groundwork for a strong and lasting partnership with the City of Midland.”
“Tall City will be our most dynamic and immersive location yet,” says Traci Hanlon, vice president of marketing and sales at Cinergy.
“From multi-level electric indoor extreme karting to elevated dining and next-gen movie experiences, every element has been thoughtfully designed to deliver exceptional entertainment for our guests. We’re excited to bring this transformative venue to the Midland community.”
Entertainment, dining & connection
Cinergy Tall City will offer a wide range of entertainment options, with a focus on its dine-in theatres. The cinema features six luxury auditoriums with laser projection and 7.1 surround sound, including two EPIC premium large-format screens with advanced RGB laser technology and Dolby Atmos audio.
Additionally, the venue includes a first-of-its-kind, three-level indoor Extreme Karting Speedway with high-speed electric karts, two tracks, and a viewing platform. Visitors can also enjoy 11 boutique bowling lanes, with four available in private VIP suites for events. Versatile event rooms include retractable doors that open to the lanes and game floor.
Upstairs, four immersive escape rooms are designed to challenge players with puzzles, codes, and engaging storytelling. The entertainment centre also offers an arcade with over 80 cutting-edge games, as well as a full-service sports bar serving American classics and made-to-order food, and equipped with a 50-foot screen.
Furthermore, Cinergy Tall City will offer a hub for corporate events, birthdays, and group celebrations with numerous private event rooms that can cater to customised event programming, contemporary AV for presentations, and full-service catering.
Cinergy Tall City is positioned to become a regional destination for entertainment, dining, and connection, as Cinergy continues to expand across Texas and beyond.
Last month, ARCO/Murray celebrated the launch of Zion Canyon Hot Springs in Utah, US. The 20-acre resort property marks ARCO/Murray’s second collaboration with WorldSprings, the leading outdoor hot springs operator in the US.
