LeisurUP by MAPIC highlights revealed for operators

Event will showcase new leisure and retailtainment concepts in Southern France

Reed MIDEM, the organiser of MAPIC, has announced details of conferences and events for next week’s event.

MAPIC 2021 takes place 30 November – 2 December, featuring LeisurUp by MAPIC, a new event designed to accelerate location-based attractions in retail venues, urban sectors and travel destinations. The trade show will feature an exhibition area with over sixty exhibitors, conference sessions and opportunities to network at Palais des Festivals, in Cannes.

A new addition for this year, MAPIC will be hosting a real television studio where conferences will be live-streamed, made available online through its MAPIC Digital platform.

LeisurUp MAPIC 2021

With more than 130 speakers to choose from at MAPIC 2021, blooloop has gathered a selection of the event’s leisure seminar and conference highlights:

Tuesday 30 November

  • 9.30am: Opening Session – People & Places: A New Chapter with Philippe Houzé, Galeries Lafayette Group executive chairman
  • 11am: Leisure Talks in the MAPIC Talks Arena, featuring eight industry leaders
  • 12.30 pm: From Responsible Consumers to Sustainable Places with Cindy Andersen, Ingka Centres managing director and Etienne Dupuy, NHOOD CEO
  • 2pm: Welcome by the Master of Ceremonies LeisurUp! by Yael Coifman, Senior Parter, Leisure Development Partners
  • 2 pm: Leisure & Retail: A New Chapter with Nicolas De Villiers, Puy du Fou president and Pascal Ferracci, Parques Reunidos CEO
  • 3pm: Leisure industry snapshot: restarting your business with Yael Coifman, Senior Partner, Leisure Development Partners, Reinhart Viane, Business Development Director KCC BV, and Fri Forjindam, Mycotoo Chief Development Officer.
  • 4 pm: Socialising in the Next Generation Family Entertainment Centers, featuring Guillaume Chêne, QubicaAMF France country manager, Michael Harrison, Gravity Active Entertainment co-founder and COO, and François Pain, IPE co-founder and president
  • 6.30pm: Toasting the return of MAPIC with “Le Verre de l’amitié” in exhibition area Riviera 7

Wednesday 1 December

  • 9am – Welcome by the Master of Ceremonies LeisurUp! by Yael Coifman, Senior Parter, Leisure Development Partners
  • 9 am – TEA Presents, co-organised with the Themed Entertainment Association, featuring Bart Dohmen, Unlimited Show CEO and Nicole Srock.Stanley, dan pearlman Group CEO & Founder.
  • 10 am: Activating Brands & Spaces: The Power of Storytelling with Sacha Bansay, APSYS commercial director and David Harari, Dama Dreams co-founder.
  • 10.30 am: Leisure Workshop: a premium closed-door networking event gathering leisure operators and the most important international real estate players. With Fri Forjindam, Mycotoo chief development officer and Yael Coifman, Senior Partner, Leisure Development Partners
  • 12.30 pm: The French Leisure & Attraction Market Landscape with Solenne Blanc, Beaux Arts & CIE CEO and Jérôme Giacomoni, SNELAC administrator
  • 10pm: MAPIC Party at Salon des Ambassadeurs

Thursday 2 December

  • 10 am Leisure Talks – A chance to discover innovative leisure concepts from suppliers and operators, moderated by Imagine Leisure and featuring manufacturers including BoldMove, ProSlide Technology, Vekoma Rides, Project Syntropy and Walltopia.

MAPIC 2021 will also feature two other events; The Happetite by MAPIC, an international food industry trade show with restaurant chains in retail and urban destinations, and the MAPIC Innovation Forum, a global gathering of leaders in the retail real estate industry.

Admission passes are still available for this year’s event from MAPIC’s website, starting from €290.

Earlier this week, amusement park development and management company Team Park Project revealed details about their upcoming presence at LeisurUp by Mapic.
