Disneyland Paris is opening a Star Wars-themed F&B experience called Lounge Lightspeed where guests can meet Disney's innovative BDX droids.

Lounge Lightspeed is an outdoor terrace in Discoveryland at Disneyland Paris. It is located on the roof of Starport, providing a unique view of the park's X-wing Starfighter.

A seasonal experience running from 31 May through 17 September, Lounge Lightspeed will serve Star Wars-themed drinks and snacks.

The storyline for Lounge Lightspeed is linked to Star Tours – the Adventures Continue, a 3D, motion-simulated ride found at several Disney parks.

Like Star Tours, the pop-up lounge features metallic structures, neon lights, and immersive music that transports guests to another galaxy.

As above, a highlight in Lounge Lightspeed will be visits from Walt Disney Imagineering's bipedal robotic BDX droids.

These expressive, free-roaming droids can interact with visitors, emote, dance, and walk on uneven terrain. They also have roles in 2026 filmThe Mandalorian & Grogu.

Kyle Laughlin, SVP at Walt Disney Imagineering’s research and development arm, recently spoke about thetechnologybehind the BDX droids.

“The BDX droids are a big leap forward — not just for robotics, but for how we bring beloved characters to life in the real world,” he said.

“But beyond the tech, what really sets them apart is that spark of personality — they’re full of life, and they make people smile. That’s what we’re really after: emotional connection through technology.”
