Aerial Illuminations, a leading provider of drone light shows, is partnering with UVify, creator of the award-winning IFO swarm light show drone, to deliver a large-scale, multi-night live drone light show in Houston, Texas, during Easter week.

Over nine consecutive nights, the show will build from 5,000 to 10,000 drones, and will include attempts at 4 world records.

As the first progressive, multi-night live drone show series of this scale, this project marks a major milestone for Aerial Illuminations and UVify.

By showcasing both companies' ability to design and deliver complex live productions over consecutive nights, the series expands the possibilities for clients seeking long-term, high-impact aerial entertainment.

Grant Reichardt, director of business development at Aerial Illuminations, says: "The Aerial Illuminations team is thrilled to put on multiple shows at a record-breaking scale.

"As with all our shows, we are committed to executing these shows in a manner that pushes the envelope on what is possible with drone technology, while also ensuring innovative and above industry standard safety systems.

"With these shows, we hope to share the beauty and awe that is possible with our drone technology, and capture the imagination of everyone who views it.”

Step forward for longer-form drone shows

The project represents a major achievement in both scale and live execution. On the first night, Aerial Illuminations will equal the current American drone show record with a 5,000-drone performance. At each subsequent performance, the number of drones will increase, culminating in a 10,000 drone show on the final night.

Over the nine-night series, the Easter story will unfold through designs and choreography created specifically for each evening. As the number of drones increases each night, new creative and technical elements will be added, making each show unique.

In contrast to typical single-night drone shows, this is designed as a progressive live production series that requires ongoing adjustments, testing, coordination, and execution. Each performance will be flown live before a public audience.

Operationally, the show involves complex planning across flight choreography, fleet logistics, safety systems, airspace coordination, crew operations, and real-time monitoring.

As such, the series represents both a significant operational undertaking and an advancement in longer-form, large-scale drone entertainment for major events and destinations.

Recently, Aerial Illuminations created a 300-drone New Year's Eve show for Fun Spot Theme Park and Old Town Entertainment District in Kissimmee, which turned the countdown into an aerial spectacle featuring synchronised lights and contemporary, tech-inspired visuals.
