Parc Astérix in France has unveiled its expanded and transformed Egypt zone ahead of the launch of its 2026 season on 4 April.

When it reopens next month, Parc Astérix's updated Egypt zone will provide an immersive experience with Cleopatra and the Egyptian gods.

As part of the project, the former Oxygénarium attraction has been completely redesigned to become the Descent of the Nile, a water ride with new theming and a new queue experience.

Also, the Les Chaises Volantes attraction has been transformed into the Flight of Ibis, a family-friendly flying chairs experience with water jets and themed decor.

Coming later to the Egypt zone is a buffet restaurant called Épidemaïs' Counter, which will serve Middle Eastern cuisine in a themed setting when it opens in June.

And, launching at some point this spring, a new production of the Cleopatra's Gift show will feature a new stage.

Parc Astérix recently opened a new restaurant in the Egyptian zone called Les Fastes du Nil, which offers dishes inspired by Middle Eastern cuisine in an immersive space.

The redesigned Egypt zone is part of Parc Astérix's €250 million, three-year investment plan.

This includes the new Londinium zone, an indoor area inspired by the Astérix in Britain comic book set to open in 2028, as well as a renovated Greek zone to debut in 2027.

Additionally, Parc Astérix is expanding its hotel portfolio with the Odyssée Hotel, a 300-room property to open in 2027.

Last year, Parc Astérix opened the new Cétautomatix attraction, described as Europe's first spinning, kinetic-powered family roller coaster.

In 2023, Parc Astérix debuted its largest ever expansion with a €36m themed area named Festival Toutatis, anchored by an Intamin multi LSM launch coaster.

The park's operator, Compagnie des Alpes, recently announced plans to transform Belantis in Germany into Parc Astérix.
