Katapult, the international guest experience design agency, has revealed that ZooAtronic is the winner of its 2024 Helping Hands Project initiative.
With its concept for an immersive virtual zoo experience, ZooAtronic seeks to encourage people to become champions for the natural environment and empower change. The experience enables visitors to tour the indoor digitally driven attraction and interact with lifelike representations of wildlife and habitats from around the world, without requiring long-distance travel or animal captivity.
Katie Tostevin-Hobbs, founder and director at ZooAtronic Productions, shares: “I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to work with such an accomplished and talented team of people who share the same passion for sustainability, social impact, and nature connection.
“The support that ZooAtronic Productions will receive as a Helping Hands Project partner will be instrumental for the next phase of our journey to make ZooAtronic a reality. Thank you to the entire Katapult team!”
Social & environmental impact
Katapult will provide ZooAtronic with £10,000 worth of insights, strategy, master planning, and design skills to help it create its first digital zoo location planned in the next five years.
Dawn Foote, Katapult’s co-founder and CEO, says: “We had some wonderful applicants as part of our Helping Hands project, but ZooAtronic’s vision to create a stronger connection to nature, while making the world a healthier and more compassionate place, was a compelling winner.
“As the world’s first B Corp Certified themed attraction design company, we are thrilled to once again use our expertise to generate a high social and environmental impact with Katie.”
Since starting the Helping Hands Project in 2018, Katapult has collaborated with UNESCO World Heritage Sites, museums, and schools.
Recently, it partnered with Down to Earth and the Eden Project in their work to make Derby, UK, the global hub for nature-based urban redevelopment.
Last month, Katapult announced that it has joined forces with children’s entertainment studio Cloudco Entertainment to create a new Care Bears family entertainment centre (FEC) concept.
