ART Engineering, an amusement ride manufacturer that develops roller coasters, dark rides, carousels, water rides and more, is celebrating the opening of a new Flower Carousel family attraction at Lochmühle amusement park in Germany.
The colourful ride complements the park’s existing family offerings and is already a popular attraction for young guests, as well as their parents and grandparents.
The playful flower design blends harmoniously into the park’s green surroundings. But the highlight is the gondolas. Colourfully decorated hedgehogs pull wheelbarrows behind them with obvious delight, in which guests of all ages can take a seat. Each hedgehog is individually decorated, a detail that immediately brings a smile to the face.
The flower carousel can also be operated without size or age restrictions. This makes it accessible to almost all visitors, from toddlers to grandparents, and thus a real intergenerational attraction that enables shared experiences.
Interactive water experience
There is also an interactive element. During the ride, young guests can use a fixed watering can to spray water jets at the flowers placed in the centre of the carousel. And because these flowers seem to have a mind of their own, they shoot back. This small, yet surprising, water animation offers plenty of fun and excitement for children.
Carsten Meyer, owner of Freizeitpark Lochmühle, says: “We are very satisfied with the entire project. From communication and construction to the quality of the carousel, everything went smoothly with ART Engineering. We are very happy to have found this manufacturer. But the most important thing is that our guests love the ride.”
“Attractions for the little ones are an important part of our product range,” adds Oliver Pierling, co-owner of ART Engineering.
“With the Flower Carousel, we are not only delivering a technically sophisticated solution, but also an emotional experience – a playful introduction to the world of amusement park rides.”
The team will be exhibiting at IAAPA Expo Europe in Barcelona in Hall 1, Booth 1-950.
ART Engineering has also recently announced that it is bringing its first Wild Swing to the UK, with an installation at Paultons Park, a family-owned theme park in Hampshire. The ride is set to open in 2026 and is part of the new Nordic-themed land named Valgard – Realm of the Vikings.
