Huss Park Attractions celebrates winning two IAAPA Brass Ring Awards

News
Huss IAAPA Brass Ring Awards

Huss Park Attractions, the German ride manufacturer, announced that the first delivery of the Break Dance 5, dubbed the Laser Dance, secured the title of Best New Major Ride/Attraction title. The Sky Tower Multimedia concept also earned second place in the Best New Product Concept category.

The IAAPA Brass Ring Awards, named for the rings given to carousel riders at early amusement parks, are a prestigious honour in the leisure industry. They celebrate excellence in the international attractions and entertainment sector, recognising theme parks, water parks, zoos, museums, science centres, family entertainment centres, and manufacturers.

The IAAPA Brass Ring Awards winners were announced at this year’s IAAPA Expo Orlando, where HUSS has traditionally been an exhibitor for many decades.

Break Dance 5

The Break Dance 5 represents the latest innovative evolution of a hugely popular ride in the industry. HUSS introduced the original version nearly 40 years ago. Since then, the Break Dance has become a classic, beloved by crowds at funfairs and numerous amusement parks globally.

Huss Break Dance 5

This year, the Break Dance 5 made its debut at the Vienna Prater. Among the many attractions at this iconic amusement park in central Vienna, Austria, the “Laser Dance” stands out as a major highlight. This new ride, along with the entire model, uses the distinctive “Break Dance formula” that HUSS has been using to delight millions of riders annually since 1985.

“With the Break Dance 5, we have further improved and modernized the well-known concept. HUSS has added 30% more power to the attraction and increased the top speed by another 30%”, says Lars L. Hartmann, chief sales & creative officer at HUSS.

The IAAPA Brass Ring Awards jury also highlighted two other unique features of the Break Dance 5: “Added DJ booth and operator booth in center of ride with two different types of queue lines – one more for families and the other more thrilling.”

The operator centre stage is a notable Break Dance 5 model innovation. Located at the heart of the attraction, the operator can manage the ride while monitoring the action. Additionally, a DJ can be stationed in this central area. With a variety of ride cycles and theming, as well as lighting and sound options, this arrangement creates a truly distinctive experience for riders and spectators alike.

Sky Tower Multimedia

For years, HUSS’s Sky Tower has been an iconic highlight and landmark in numerous amusement parks. With the Sky Tower Multimedia, HUSS elevates the classic experience to a new level, offering riders two attractions in one.

For the IAAPA Brass Ring Award jury, the Sky Tower Multimedia is a successful blend of the familiar observation tower concept with new impulses: “An observation tower that takes guest down a level into a 360° 3D theater, then go into traditional tower.”

After passengers board the spacious gondola, it descends through a unique iris-shaped opening to the lower level. A large 360° cinema awaits passengers with individual multimedia content that provides an impressive and immersive experience. The journey can transport them to the ocean’s depths, outer space, or other extraordinary scenarios. Then, the gondola gently ascends, allowing passengers to savour breathtaking views through the expansive panoramic windows.

“With the Sky Tower Multimedia, immersive film experiences meet spectacular views!”, says Mirko J. Schulze, CEO.

“The benefits of this innovative concept are the ultra-accessibility (there are no height, weight or age restrictions for riders), the usability as a highlight in an amusement park or as a stand-alone attraction and the high advertising value as an iconic landmark visible from afar. In addition, this model is easily adaptable to the specific requirements of operators: with individual media content, theming or illumination.”

The Sky Tower Multimedia is more than a theoretical idea: This year, the initial project was successfully delivered for the Golden Bay Resort in Shenzhen, China, and the equipment is ready for installation.

In recent years, HUSS has introduced various innovations and new iterations of its popular ride models. The double award received this year at the IAAPA Brass Ring Awards serves as an additional motivation for HUSS to persist in enhancing existing attraction concepts and to implement innovative, future-oriented designs and ideas.
