Awards success
In a standout moment of the event, Alterface's creative director, Laurence Beckers, was presented with the Industry Icon (Supplier) Award at the Park World Excellence Awards. This prestigious honour celebrates Beckers' extraordinary career and enduring contributions to the sector.
Stéphane Battaille, CEO of Alterface, says: "Laurence's vision and dedication to the creation of interactive experiences have shaped the way audiences play and connect, leaving a profound impact on the industry. We are incredibly proud of her achievements and grateful for the inspiration she brings to our team every day."
Additionally, the new SpongeBob's Crazy Carnival Ride in The Land of Legends, Turkey, received a Highly Commended award in the Park World Excellence Awards Best Dark Ride or Media Based Experience category, demonstrating the ride's unique design and interactive participation.
The company was also recognised for its expertise in interactive technology at the European Star Awards. Here, SpongeBob’s Crazy Carnival Ride at The Land of Legends scooped the award for Best New Indoor Attractions and Sesame Street: Street Mission at PortAventura World won the Best Family Rides category.
Sally Dark Rides designed both attractions. Alterface was chosen as a collaborator for interactivity and helped to bring these much-loved stories to life in ways that captivate and delight visitors of all ages.
Magical interactivity
Meanwhile, at the Alterface booth, Expo attendees could experience an astonishing teaser for a new collaboration with the artistic team from Levita, with real-life levitating objects.
"We are always exploring new technologies and gameplay," says Battaille. "It felt natural to involve magicians in our quest to create experiences that go beyond traditional interactivity. We look forward to taking this magical collaboration even further at IAAPA Expo US this November. Visit us at Booth #862 to see the next step!"
Last month, Alterface launched a new Interactive Concept Design Service to support operators, designers, and suppliers in creating attractions that incorporate interactivity from the start. This new service offers a creative consultative approach that seamlessly integrates interactivity into the design process from the beginning, rather than added later as a technical feature.
