Walt Disney World has announced upgrades to its audio-animatronics, inspired by the advanced figures at Shanghai Disneyland's Zootopia land and Hong Kong Disneyland's World of Frozen.
Starting with the new Zootopia figure at Animal Kingdom, a Benjamin Clawhauser audio-animatronic will feature in the new Zootopia: Better Together 4D show, which opens on 7 November in the Tree of Life Theater.
The Clawhauser figure first debuted as part of Shanghai Disneyland's new Zootopia land, a mammalian metropolis brought to life through innovative technologies and immersive theming.
For the Disney World attraction, Clawhauser is getting a new look: glow necklaces and a glittery Gazelle T-shirt.
Over at Epcot, the Elsa, Anna and Kristoff audio-animatronics in the Frozen Ever After ride are being updated, taking inspiration from the advanced figures in World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland.
"Early next year, this investment will bring a more true-to-film look for these beloved characters," Disney said in a blog post.
Muppets roller coaster to open summer 2026
World of Frozen, the world’s first Frozen-themed land, opened at Hong Kong Disneyland in November 2023. It offers two new attractions, Frozen Ever After and Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, as well as themed retail and F&B.
In addition to revealing the new Zootopia and Frozen-themed figures, Disney World has announced that it will open the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in summer 2026.
The new ride will feature the first-ever audio-animatronic figure of Scooter, and "he might not be the only Muppet audio-animatronics figure joining the attraction", Disney said.
Earlier this year, Disney launched the first-ever Walt Disney audio-animatronic as part of a new attraction at Disneyland in California. The new figure is also being added to Magic Kingdom in Florida.
