Environmental Street Furniture (ESF), a supplier of exterior street furniture products, has revealed its new Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiative today, World Environment Day 2025.
The initiative, named ‘ESG by ESF’, has been developed to help organisations meet their Scope 3 emissions reduction and Net Zero targets. The extensive range of sustainable street furniture offerings includes 100% recycled plastic products, solar-powered solutions, and wind energy technologies.
Recycled materials & renewable enegry
As the international focus on sustainability grows, organisations are facing a growing pressure to adhere to strict carbon reduction mandates. With ESG by ESF, businesses, councils, architects, factories, educational institutions, and retailers can advance their environmental responsibility and sustainability activities through innovative street furniture solutions.
A signature ESG by ESF range is the Wombles Collection, which is made from 100% post-consumer waste. The collection demonstrates ESF’s dedication to reducing plastic waste while creating long-lasting, stylish, and functional outdoor furniture. By using completely recycled materials, organisations can contribute to a circular economy and significantly reduce their carbon footprint.
ESF has also developed solar-powered street furniture, which generates renewable energy while providing essential services to users. Solar charging benches provide sustainable power points for users’ devices, while solar compacting litter bins require fewer waste collections, reducing vehicle emissions.
Furthermore, the company has launched the Wind Tree, which harnesses energy from the wind. This can be used to power street lighting and other amenities, reducing the reliance on fossil fuels and contributing to a greener urban environment.
Alan Lowry, CEO of Environmental Street Furniture Ltd, was recently named 2025 Northern Ireland Sustainable Business Leader of the Year.
“Environmental responsibility is no longer just an option; it is a necessity,” says Lowry.
“With our ESG by ESF initiative, we are empowering organizations to take meaningful steps towards sustainability. Our products are designed to not only meet regulatory requirements but also to inspire communities to embrace eco-friendly practices.”
ESF’s dedication to sustainability goes beyond its product offerings. It works to educate its partners and clients on the importance of reducing carbon throughout their supply chains, supporting their journey towards achieving Net Zero while helping them to deploy innovative solutions that make an enduring impact on the environment.
Recently, ESF presented its latest products at the Saudi Entertainment and Amusement (SEA) Expo in Riyadh. The company’s presence was led by Lowry and reflected its commitment to providing innovative, high-quality solutions for the attractions industry.
