With photography technology, guests can transport themselves into memorable scenes from the international smash hit series

Magic Memories, a global leader in experience capture for the attractions industry, has announced a new experience for fans of the blockbuster Game of Thrones series.

Through advanced attraction technology, guests at Northern Ireland’s unique Game of Thrones Studio Tour can be captured with White Walkers, in the Hall of Faces, in Winterfell or on the iconic Iron Throne.

The 110,000-square-foot venue features authentic sets and environments in the location where the majority of the show’s filming took place. Visitors step behind the scenes of The Seven Kingdoms and beyond, in the largest celebration of the HBO hit series. Whilst discovering the expansive selection of costumes, props, and weapons, fans are given an exclusive glimpse into the artistry, craft and skill required for the fantasy production.

The Banbridge-based attraction now includes distinctive multimedia content, created in partnership with Magic Memories and delivered straight to guests’ phones. Amongst the experiences, visitors can capture video, use AR filters and enjoy selfie sessions, all captured by Magic Memories to relive and share with friends online.

The technology company’s founder and executive director John Wikstrom says that the firm, which grew its international partnership footprint by nearly a third last year, is excited to partner with Game of Thrones Studio Tour, immersing fans in new and innovative ways.

Wikstrom says: “Winter has come to Magic Memories, and we are delighted to be part of this incredible experience.

“Whether it is a sitting on the Iron Throne or a close encounter with White Walkers, we are working closely with our attraction partner to ensure a seamless delivery of personalised content experiences at key points throughout the attraction that guests will find hugely desirable and will want to share.”

The executive says that the team had a lot of fun working with the iconic IP, a large percentage of which are avid Game of Thrones fans.

He continues: “Creating content experiences that stay true to the attraction’s brand, values and messages is fundamental to the success of Magic Memories in any one of our 200 plus global partnerships.

“Our cloud-based operating system MagicOS enables Magic Memories to deliver its wide range of multimedia product experiences to all sizes of attractions – in fact, anywhere where people are celebrating being together at a branded experience.”

Magic Memories has also been working on experiences for sites in the US including Zoo Atlanta, for which the firm has created a range of digital encounters designed to reinforce the Zoo’s key messages of conservation, welfare and sustainability.
