Martin Aquatic, a world-class aquatic firm, is bringing its patented Blue Mar Basins water management system to two new surf parks in Florida, with more under development across the US and worldwide.
The surf communities on the Gulf and East Coasts of Florida will soon have access to consistent, on-demand waves at The Point Surf Park in Fellsmere and the newly announced Shell Point Beach & Surf Club in Panama City Beach, both designed using Blue Mar Basins technology.
At almost 500 miles apart, the new facilities will provide freshwater surfing with pristine water conditions to millions of Floridians.

Josh Martin, president and creative director of Martin Aquatic, says: "We’re honored to work on these two unique projects in our home state—each with incredible visionaries at the helm who are passionate about bringing accessible surf to their areas.
"With our Blue Mar Basins system providingthe safest, highest quality water in these surf lagoons, these parks will provide unmatched freshwatersurfing conditions for anyone to learn the sport and continue building their skills."
Cost-saving system
Using Blue Mar Basins technology, the surf lagoons will achieve greater water, chemical, and energy savings through a patented filtration, automation, and water distribution process.
The technology was developed by Martin Aquatic using sophisticated Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling to simulate how the pool will operate in the real world. The aquatic environment will be safeguarded by its ongoing proprietary water-quality monitoring process.
Both surf lagoons feature waves powered by Endless Surf, WhiteWater's pneumatic wave-generation technology. Endless Surf’s ES36 technology can generate rides up to 19 seconds long, while the heart-shaped design of the surf basins can create bespoke wave heights, speeds, and angles. This enables new surfers to build their confidence while challenging the skills of the most advanced surfers.
The Point Surf Park is currently under construction and is set to open in 2026, when it will be the first surf park in Florida and the first Endless Surf lagoon in the US. Conveniently located in the middle of Florida’s east coast, Fellsmere is just a two-hour drive for surfers in Daytona Beach and Fort Lauderdale.

Situated close to the shore in downtown Panama City Beach, Shell Point Beach & Surf Club is set to include additional hospitality facilities with several pools and a swim-up bar, spas, water slides, and a children’s splash pad. All are designed by Martin Aquatic.
These two surf parks mark the first of over a dozen under development for Martin Aquatic. These projects include master-planning developments for surf parks in Latin America, designed for private residential communities.
Alessandro Orio, VP of Blue Mar Basins at Martin Aquatic, says: "The popularity for surfing is continuing to increase at the same time that these wave generation technologies are becoming more sophisticated and more feasible to construct.
"With the proven water quality that our Blue Mar Basinstechnology can produce, we’re seeing high demand for our system and the kind of cost-savings that it offers."
Earlier this month, Martin Aquatic announced that its Blue Mar Basins technology has been granted a US Patent. It also unveiled a new testing facility for water feature innovations, the Martin Aquatic Test Bay, in Orlando, Florida.
