The American Museum of Natural History (AMNH), one of the world’s major scientific, educational and cultural institutions, is launching a new webinar series sharing insights into content development and engagement.
The first session in the series is taking place on 31 January at 1:30 pm EST with Dr Carol Tang, senior vice president for education, exhibition, and public programming (pictured).
Tang will discuss AMNH’s initiatives in science communication, topic selection, educational research and evaluation, and the significance of reaching a worldwide audience beyond New York City.
“As a Jurassic paleontologist, it’s so important to me that the content the American Museum of Natural History develops has such deep roots in collaboration between scientists and specialized teams such as exhibitions, education and science visualization,” says Tang. “The level at which these teams work together is unique —they bring really relevant and important information to the public in a way that wows them.”

Insights from AMNH experts
Providing meaningful and engaging experiences based on high-quality content is an important objective for museums, science centres, and other public-facing organisations.
AMNH is known worldwide for its science and educational programmes, planetarium presentations, and exhibits, all of which are intrinsically linked to the Museum’s scientific research. AMNH’s Global Business Development (GBD) distributes this content and is regularly asked questions on how the Museum selects subjects, creates programming, produces exhibitions and planetarium presentations, and more.
In response, GBD is launching the Content Development and Engagement at AMNH webinar series. The 30-minute sessions will offer museum and industry professionals a unique opportunity to learn directly from the Museum’s specialists.
The upcoming webinars this spring will cover the process of developing exhibitions, public programming, science visualisation, and immersive space shows.
Visit the AMNH website for more details about forthcoming webinars and dates.
