Sloth World, billed as the world's first "slotharium", is set to open on International Drive in Orlando, Florida next month.

The new attraction will offer a guided experience within a rainforest-style habitat where sloths roam freely among trees, vines and natural climbing structures.

The 7,500-square-foot space will operate with limited capacity and will house more than 40 sloths from multiple species, including babies born on site.

There will be no cages, enclosures or glass barriers at Sloth World. Instead, visitors will be immersed in the sloths' habitat, observing the animals' natural behaviours.

“We want guests to feel like they’ve stepped into the sloths’ world – not the other way around,” said Pete Bandre, vice president of Sloth World.

“There are no cages or barriers – you step right into their environment. It’s peaceful, natural and unlike anything else."

Conservation and education at Sloth World

Via a press release, the Sloth World experience is designed around conservation and education, with guests exploring how habitat protection efforts support the species across the world.

Visitors to Sloth World will enjoy a small-group guided tour led by animal science professionals who specialise in sloth behaviour.

The sloths' comfort will come first, and all interactions will be hands-off and education-based.

"We want every visitor to walk out with a deeper understanding of how extraordinary these animals are, why their protection matters, and how simple actions can help support sloth populations around the world," Bandre said.

Sloth World opens in February 2026. Tickets are priced at $49, with presales already underway.

A portion of all revenue is supporting sloth rescue and habitat protection initiatives in Guyana, Costa Rica, Peru and other regions.
