Valo Motion, a pioneer in combining interactive technology with physical activities, has donated to the Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation in order to protect primaeval forests.
Valo Motion is pleased to announce that it has celebrated a successful 2019 by donating to the Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation, a non-governmental organisation that promotes the protection of ancient woodland. The foundation, which was established in 1995, buys areas of untouched forests, which play a key role in promoting biodiversity, and applies for their permanent protection.
Valo Motion is keen to stay true to its environmentally-conscious values while also operating on a global scale. After flying to several global trade shows during 2019, the company decided to donate to the Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation in order to compensate for its carbon emissions.
Protecting natural habitats
“In Finland, a mere four per cent of the forests in the southern half of the country is under legal protection,” says Raine Kajastila, CEO and founder of Valo Motion. “Therefore, the Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation’s primary goal is to purchase forest sites from southern and central Finland. We wanted to support them in this endeavour by purchasing some primaeval forest.”
This particular conservation area is called Tomteskog, located in Porvoo, one of Finland’s six medieval towns. Roughly translated, Tomteskog means The Forest of Elves and is thick, diverse and uncut.
The company is also working on developing carbon-neutral shipping for 2020. Valo Motion’s products are now in use in over 55 countries around the world. Its customers include trampoline parks such as Sky Zone, Jump Square, Altitude Trampoline Park and Big Air, as well as FECs, resorts and fitness clubs.
While most of the transportation industry relies on fossil fuels, the company is committed to moving in the direction of carbon neutrality in order to reduce its carbon footprint. To this end, it intends to compensate for the CO2 emissions caused by its shipping activities in 2020. It is also exploring a switch to more eco-friendly packaging.
Earlier this year, Valo Motion introduced a new two-person game called Skytails Race, available for its award-winning interactive trampoline game setup, ValoJump
