The new ARENA eSports Hotel, which will be the largest esports gaming arena-themed hotel in Southeast Asia, is set to open at Singapore’s popular Bugis Street shopping location in August 2022.
With an area of 45,000 square feet, the hotel will offer co-working, co-playing and co-living spaces, including a 2,000-square-foot gaming arena with an integrated online esport 3.0 platform, alongside an esports lounge. There will also be an automated, cashless check-in and check-out system.
Hotel will feature esports arena and private gaming rooms
As well as the shared facilities, the hotel’s rooms will serve as private gaming rooms, complete with high-tech esports equipment, PCs and consoles. Rates start at S$70 per night and reservations are already open.
ARENA eSports Hotel is the first international esports hotel chain and has other venues planned for Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and Phnom Penh in Cambodia.
The trend for esports shows no signs of slowing. Glytch plans to open 32 state-of-the-art esports stadiums across North America, with the first four in LA, Atlanta, Bellevue and Chicago. Each facility will be home to a professional esports team.
The venues will have the capacity to seat thousands of esports spectators. The fully-themed, immersive environments will also include other attractions such as VR simulators, escape rooms, drone racing and classic arcade attractions as well as upscale food and beverage options.
Elsewhere, Belong Gaming Arenas plan to open 300 experiential gaming centres across the US, in addition to its 27 UK venues, and the MSG Sphere esports and concert venue in Stratford has been given planning approval.
Themed hotels are not a new concept either, with immersive offerings featuring popular brands and IPs such as Boonie Bears, Bing and Atari. Not to mention Disney’s biggest experiment yet, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, an immersive two-night hotel experience that takes guests out of this world on a highly-themed adventure.
