Tokyo Disneyland operator Oriental Land Company (OLC) has revealed plans for new lands, a new hotel, and a second cruise ship as part of its long-term goals.
OLC revealed its future plans in a 2035 management strategy presentation on 28 April, in which it said it will pursue growth for each of its businesses through 2035.
For its theme parks, OLC said it is considering “large-scale development such as area redesign at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea to create new experience value”.
The company said it will continue to introduce new content and experiences through new attractions and the renovation of existing ones.
Alongside the statement, OLC shared renderings resembling a new Adventureland at Tokyo Disneyland and a new Port Discovery at Tokyo DisneySea.
As for OLC’s hotel plans, the company said demand in the Maihama and Shin-Urayasu areas around the resort “remains high”.
Redesigned lands at Tokyo Disney parks
With the theme park division set to become “even more aggressive in attracting guests from overseas, consideration will also be given to developing a new Disney hotel”, it said.
This would be Tokyo Disney Resort’s seventh hotel.
Earlier this year, OLC announced a partnership for a new Disney cruise ship to sail from Japan.
In its new statement, the group said the ship will contribute to its business portfolio and position it “for further growth with a view to launching a second cruise ship”.
Last year, Tokyo DisneySea opened Fantasy Springs, its new themed port with Tangled, Peter Pan and Frozen experiences, as well as the Fantasy Springs Hotel.
The $2.2 billion land is Tokyo DisneySea’s largest development to date.
At Tokyo Disneyland, the Space Mountain coaster and its surrounding area in Tomorrowland are being transformed in a ¥56 billion ($408 million) project.
Tokyo Disneyland opened in 1983 and was followed in 2001 by Tokyo DisneySea.
