WhiteWater, a leading waterpark manufacturer, has been recognised with four Leading Edge Awards at the World Waterpark Association Show in Orlando, Florida.

The company was honoured for its work on the Yas Waterworld Expansion (with WTI and Life Floor), Bavarian Blast at Bavarian Inn (with ADG, OpenAire, H&LA, and Life Floor), Summer Savanna Outdoor Waterpark at Kalahari Resort – Round Rock (with WTI), and Carnival Cruise Line’s Celebration Key (with Martin Aquatic and Life Floor).

Award-winning projects

At Yas Waterworld in Abu Dhabi, the most-awaited water park expansion project of 2025 launched with 20 new attractions over an area spanning 13,000 square metres (140,000 square feet).

The expansion features the world’s first Mini Blaster Fusion combined with Mini Rattler, along with two regional firsts: the side-by-side duelling inner tube slide, Inner Tube Parallel Pursuit, and a Blaster Battle + Slingshot Fusion.

Notably, the project includes a Shoot the Chute that marks the world’s first water ride to be incorporated into a water slide tower. Its 20-seat boat drops 15 metres from the mouth of the mythical Bahamut fish, producing the largest and loudest splash ever to be experienced inside a water park.

In Michigan, US, the opening of the state's largest indoor water park, Bavarian Blast, has turned the German-themed Bavarian Inn resort into a year-round destination.

This 13,800-square-metre (170,000-square-foot) venue features 16 slides, including the state’s first dual mat racing slides, Mat Parallel Pursuit, along with the world’s first Inner Tube Parallel Pursuit. It also offers a Python + Constrictor six-person raft ride and two storybook-themed slides for children, created using WhiteWater’s advanced fibreglass veiling technology.

Additionally, a cuckoo clock spills water onto excited children below, and an authentically decorated Maypole further immerses families in lively alpine ambience, creating a cheerful and authentic alpine atmosphere.

Carnival Cruise Line’s private destination on Grand Bahama, Celebration Key, welcomes guests to an exclusive tropical haven with a beach, lagoons, a splash pad, and the 'Suncastle,' which serves as an instantly recognisable landmark. Two body slides launch from this structure. Each is over 107 metres (350 feet) long and features vibrant bursts of colour with AquaLucent effects.

Furthermore, Summer Savanna Outdoor Waterpark at Kalahari Resort in Texas, US, was the first park to feature a set of children’s slides with cute nature themes, including honeybees, flowers, ladybirds, and dragonflies. With these, the Bugs Burrow kids’ area becomes a charming backdrop for photos that are ideal for sharing with family and friends.

Doug Smith, head of sales, says: "These projects demonstrate the successful collaboration of artistic, technical, and project management expertise together with visionary clients to create both first-of-its-kind rides for thrill seekers as well as memorable attractions for young families.

"Each of them has brought new innovations and undoubtedly raised the bar for great guest experiences. Congratulations to all partners and team members involved!"

Last month, WhiteWater held a press conference during IAAPA Expo Europe in Barcelona. The team unveiled news of its latest projects and products, from first-of-their-kind surf experiences to landmark resort and cruise launches.
