Ticketed events at IAAPA Expo Asia 2025
A range of special events will take place throughout IAAPA Expo Asia, including tours, workshops, networking opportunities and more.
On Saturday 28 June and Monday 30 June, there is a sold-out EDUTour taking in the new Legoland Shanghai Resort. This offers a unique opportunity to explore the newest world-class attraction in Shanghai. It will also feature sneak peeks into its innovative design and operations.
On Monday, the IAAPA Safety Institute will be taking place all day. This is followed by the Safety Corner session on Tuesday 1 July. Here, attendees can discuss safety challenges and seek advice from an IAAPA APAC Safety Committee member and Linda Freeman, IAAPA safety director.
The Opening Reception is on the evening of Tuesday 1 July at Shanghai Disney Resort.
On Wednesday 2 July, the day begins with the Leadership Breakfast. This will feature insights from Jill Estorino, president and managing director of Disney Parks International. The same day also sees a Lunch and Learn session featuring Cecilia Qin, VP of Trip.com.
Meanwhile, attendees at the start of their careers can opt to attend the Young Professional Corner on Wednesday. Here they will meet the Young Professional Award winners from the Asia-Pacific region.
There is also the two-day IAAPA Institute for Attractions Professionals taking place on Thursday 3 and Friday 4 July. Designed for individuals with five years or fewer of experience in attractions, this intensive, two-day in-person course combines classroom instruction led by industry experts with group activities.

Firstly, the Opening Ceremony will take place on Tuesday at 9.15, before a full day of educational sessions. Highlights include Building Robust Operations and Maintenance Programs with Integrated Quality Assurance, focused on recent safety incidents and the critical role of robust operations and maintenance programs. In From Farm to Disney Table: Create Dining Experiences with the Audience and Community in Mind, delegates will learn how business operators can connect with their audience by selecting and using local speciality farm products while simultaneously supporting and empowering local development. This explores actionable strategies for parks of all sizes to refresh shows, leverage IP, and maximise impact on a budget.

Wednesday 2 July
One session not to miss on Wednesday morning is Smarter Investments: Maximizing ROI in Asia’s Attraction Market. Several press conferences are scheduled to take place throughout IAAPA Expo Asia 2025.

In Europe, Alterface also strengthens its long-standing partnership with Merlin Entertainments through the opening of Imagination Express. This is the 28th interactive dark ride delivered to a Lego Discovery Centre.
This attraction is part of the very first next-generation Lego Discovery Centre. It officially opened its doors on June 13 in Hamburg’s HafenCity, Germany. Designed as a colourful and compact family ride, Imagination Express takes guests on a journey through an oversized Lego world, from a giant bubble bath to the plug hole, deep into a brick-built ocean, and finally out into the vastness of outer space.
With playful storytelling and hands-on interactivity, the ride provides a magical experience for both children and their parents.

In 2026, DOF Robotics will open new regional offices in London and Shanghai, strengthening operations across Europe and Asia. Huss Park Attractions – booth #1407
Huss Park Attractions, the German ride manufacturer, will also exhibit at IAAPA Expo Asia 2025. The company has supplied over 45 attractions to amusement parks in China over the last two decades. Two of the most recent additions are the family-friendly Giant, aka King Kong, at Fantasy Valley Xiangyang and the thrill ride Top Spin Suspended at Happy Valley Nanjing.
King Kong features interesting movements, a striking design, and engaging special effects. The concept is inspired by the iconic King Kong movie, featuring a giant gorilla who appears to lift the ride gondola into the air.
Riders board the gondola on the floor. Then the giant King Kong figure begins to stand, lifting the gondola simultaneously. Once upright, he shakes the gondola, producing gentle swinging movements. Once the riders reach the head of King Kong, special effects include sound, mist, shining eyes and seat vibrators.
Perfect Storm at Happy Valley Nanjing is a Top Spin Suspended model. It features 38 seats arranged in a back-to-back (B2B) configuration, with each row facing in the opposite direction.
This state-of-the-art suspended seating setup offers an exhilarating, floorless gondola experience, amplifying the sensation of freedom. It enables different ride patterns, like pendulum movements of the gondola, as well as circular rotations from any angle, abrupt turns upon releasing the drum brake, and multiple spins around its suspension axis. Top Spin Suspended also includes special effects.
Another recent example is the new Toxicator ride at Alton Towers Resort in the UK. This is the highest Top Spin ride of its kind.

Among the highlights on display will be the stadium attraction concept, developed in collaboration with C360 International, which introduces a moving pod system offering fans an entirely new way to engage with live sports and events.
Another key innovation is the AGV Dark Ride. This trackless ride system allows for highly customisable layouts, industry-leading acceleration, 3DOF motion and integrated onboard media, perfect for thrilling immersive, narrative-led experiences.

Sub Sea Systems – booth #1653
Sub Sea Systems, Inc. (SSS), a company specialising in immersive, memorable and hands-on encounters that educate through entertainment, is also exhibiting at IAAPA Expo Asia 2025. The team will present the SeaTREK helmet diving experience and the Aquaticar underwater adventure ride. Attendees can also discover VR snorkelling, SolarCat solar-electric catamarans, and more.
The company will also showcase its latest innovation, Kaimana. This new underwater experience seamlessly combines interactive gameplay with the thrill of exploration. Guests will wear SEA TREK helmets while navigating various attractions, competing playfully with high-velocity bubble blasters beneath the surface.

Sunkid – booth #1447
Sunkid, a leading provider of attractions for the whole family, invites visitors to experience its entire product portfolio, including family rides, water park conveyors, Mountain Coaster 2.0, Wood’n’Fun playgrounds, trains for roller coasters, and more.
Last year, the company delivered four customised conveyor systems to Sam Son Water Park, Vietnam’s newest water park, from its development and production site in Bad Goisern, Austria. The conveyors were installed by the customer and put into operation by Sunkid.
The firm also helped white-water athletes and emerging talents prepare for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The firm equipped the training facility in Cesson-Sévigné, France, with a new water conveyor belt. This technology was also utilised in 2021 for the Wild Water Stadium at the Olympics in Tokyo.

Vekoma – booth #1616
Vekoma Rides, the Dutch roller coaster specialist, has several recent projects that have opened in the Asia-Pacific region.
In Australia, the new Wizard of Oz precinct at Warner Bros. Movie World features the Suspended Family Coaster ‘Flight of the Wicked Witch’ & Family Boomerang Racer ‘Kansas Twister’, and Dreamworld offers the world’s first Switchback Coaster, ‘Jungle Rush’. Both parks raised the bar by creating immersive new precincts that feature Vekoma’s family-thrill coasters.
The next Switchback Coaster is already under construction and planned for opening later this season at Vinpearl in Vietnam.
On a global scale, many projects will open in 2025 and beyond, including North America’s first Tilt Coaster, ‘Siren’s Curse’, which opens on 28 June at Cedar Point.
This record-breaking Tilt Coaster combines Vekoma’s innovative seesaw track element (at 160ft up in the air) with several ride elements, featuring 13 weightless airtime moments, two 360-degree, zero gravity barrel rolls and a high-speed “triple-down” element with twisted and overbanked track, all through more than 2,966ft of track.

ZIERER – booth #1221
ZIERER, a leading manufacturer of family-friendly amusement rides, will showcase its entire portfolio during IAAPA Expo Asia 2025. Additionally, the company will hold a press conference highlighting the new family ride, Drifter, and the first sale of this ride in Asia, for Tobu Zoo in Japan.
The Drifter for Tobu Zoo will be the second unit worldwide. The first unit opened to the public this May at Särkänniemi in Finland. In total, ZIERER has already sold four units: Särkänniemi, Tobu Zoo, one to the United Kingdom, and one to the Netherlands.
ZIERER also recently replaced the ageing Medium Tivoli Coaster at Tobu Zoo in Japan with an identical replica.
