News
Sega Augmented Reality Darts

The global distribution deal will upgrade darts entertainment for high-tech leisure and entertainment sites

Sega Amusements International, a leading provider of innovative and immersive amusements, has signed a new agreement to distribute 501 Entertainment’s SMARTS Interactive and AR Darts products.

Now being distributed by a leading leisure brand, both products will make their US debut at Bowl Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. SEGA Amusements says it plans to utilise its more than 60 years of experience and expertise to bring 501 Entertainment creations to a broader base of operators and venues.

SEGA Amusements International CEO Paul Williams says: “SEGA Amusements has been following the rise of social entertainment, and 501 Entertainment’s SMARTS Interactive and AR Darts are exactly the kinds of familiar yet innovative products we have been looking for. We look forward to bringing this line to some of the best entertainment locations in the world.”

CEO of 501 Entertainment Jonny Powell adds: “The 501 Entertainment deal with SEGA Amusements International is a great fit because of their incredible reach, proven track record, and history with top quality products. We are honoured to be partnering with a powerhouse – together the possibilities are endless.”

SMARTS Interactive Darts

A new take on a classic

SMARTS Interactive is designed to replicate the classic pub darts experience, bringing it up to date with new video game components for the modern age. Combing steel-tipped darts with a commercial-grade physical dartboard, venues can benefit from instant automated scoring and sharp graphics presented on a large TV screen.

SEGA says SMARTS Darts AR is the world’s only auto-scoring darts system, and the first AR darts available in the US, to project all its targets and scores directly onto the board, converting the physical dartboard into a screen that reacts to darts in real-time.

Both products combine commonplace game mechanics with the latest technologies to impress a wide captive audience, ranging from beginners to seasoned darts players. SEGA says the new products have helped clients to increase footfall, dwell time and average spend per head.

Perfect for the growing trend of competitive socialising, SMARTS Darts systems co-exist with a catalogue of creative game modes to keep the play experience fresh, unique and shareable with friends.

More information on the products can be requested by emailing SEGA Amusements directly.

Last month, Sega Amusements unveiled Pushing Points, a new prize merchandiser that is suitable for locations such as FECs, amusement arcades, and bowling centres.
