House of Hype is expected to welcome one million visitors annually

Digital theme park start-up HyperSpace has opened its latest venue, House of Hype, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The 60,000-square-foot park is located in Boulevard Riyadh City. It combines gaming attractions, immersive theatre experiences, interactive areas for content creation, virtual music production stages, and experiential retail.

HyperSpace venues use an in-house currency called HyperCoin, and the whole park is played like a video game through a mobile app. This offers challenges, prizes, games and points and is managed using AI data analysis.

“Our park is an exciting hybrid of content creation arena and physical video game. It combines 46 creator experiences, 29 immersive attractions, and 32 gaming experiences in a colorful and fun world,” said Alexander Heller, HyperSpace founder and CEO.

“It is brought to life for visitors through digital collectibles, physical prizes, and its own currency, which all run in a sophisticated virtual economy inspired by AAA video games.”

The new site comes after the launch of first HyperSpace venue, which opened in Dubai late last year. Named Aya, the 40,000-square-foot location can be found in the Wafi City shopping mall.

House of Hype is expected to welcome one million visitors annually, while Aya sold almost half a million tickets in its first nine months of operation.

“The opening marks the start of a new trend of in-person shared experiences, designed by the best creative minds and bringing together big brands with technological innovation, to support new retail spaces and revamp old ones – driving footfall, boosting profitability and stamping a distinctive identity on each location,” Heller added.

House of Hype is the first new opening from HyperSpace since it confirmed $55 million of Series A financing. The latest round was led by Galaxy Interactive, a New York-based venture capital firm.
