MediaMation, a leader in 5D, motion effects and Esports theatres, has supplied an MX4D Motion EFX Theatre to B&B Theatres’ Tulsa Starworld 20.
The venue has recently reopened following a multi-million dollar renovation project that brings MediaMation’s cutting edge immersive cinema experience to new audiences.
The renovation also included the installation of a second GRAND SCREEN featuring wall-to-wall curved screen, 28-inch stadium seating, RealD, 3D and High Frame Rate (on select films) and DTS-X immersive surround sound and digital projection.
This is the third B&B Theatres location to feature MX4D technology. Existing locations are Shawnee (below) and Lee’s Summit, Kansas. By the end of last year, both venues were reporting a boom in attendance with B&B Theatres EVP, Brock Bagby, describing the Motion EFX Theatres as a ‘tremendous success’.
Another new concept at Tulsa Starworld 20 is ScreenPlay! aimed at parents of younger children. This features a play area in the auditorium designed to allow youngsters to let off steam before they settle down to watch a child-friendly film.
MediaMation’s hybrid-esports theatre provides 2-in-1 solution
Increasingly, cinema venues are looking to differentiate their offering with MediaMation’s immersive technology. The company is celebrating a successful 2018 Cinemacon trade show with two new theatre deals signed including a hybrid-esports venue in Chicago.
The hybrid-esports theatre deal is with Cinemas Entertainment for its Lawndale 10 location in downtown Chicago. Designed as a 2-in-1 solution for operators, the cinema can be converted between ‘Cinema Mode’ and ‘Esports Mode’ in less than an hour. This means venues can broaden their offering and enjoy dual revenue streams with immersive movie screenings as well as esports tournaments and events.
MediaMation is a leading provider of innovative technological solutions to the cinema and themed entertainment market. The company has been at the forefront of cinema solutions for over 25 years, expanding into the Esports industry in 2017.
