Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance has finally opened at Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. In the early hours of Friday morning (January 17), visitors were queuing for the immersive attraction in California.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is described as one of the most ambitious, advanced experiences that has ever been created by Walt Disney Imagineering.
According to Twitter, visitors were gathering at the entrance of Disneyland from approximately 2am in California.
“I don’t regret anything,” wrote one hopeful rider. “Still going strong waiting outside of Disneyland for Rise of the Resistance.”

Another visitor tweeted that a boarding group information pamphlet was being handed out to those in the queue. Prior to opening, Disneyland released a guide to boarding groups.
A virtual queue will be implemented as needed, allowing guests to explore Disneyland while waiting for their turn to ride Rise of the Resistance.
The Disneyland app features a dedicated module, ‘Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – Access by Boarding Group’, available on the main page.
Guests can request to join a boarding group to ride the attraction once they enter Disneyland. They will then be sent a push notification when it’s their turn to queue.

The immersive ride from Walt Disney Imagineering opened at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida in December 2019.
Meanwhile, R2-D2 has finally joined the cast of characters roaming and rolling around Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland.
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will debut in 2021 at Walt Disney World Resort. Disney previously shared new concept images of the immersive two-night hotel experience.
