ProSlide Chimelong Water Park expansion

ProSlide Technology Inc., an industry leader in water ride manufacturing and design, is celebrating the opening of Chimelong Water Park’s milestone expansion.

The attraction in Guangzhou, China is the most visited water park in the world. On 26 April, it formally launched its biggest and most ambitious expansion to date, in collaboration with ProSlide.

Together, the two organisations are combining advanced technology and intelligent, visitor-focused design to reimagine the possibilities for parks worldwide.

World-first rides

At the centre of Chimelong’s expansion are two world firsts, with the premier of the launched HydroMAGNETIC LIM Mammoth Coaster with Asia’s first FlyingSAUCER 60, and the HIVE 35 family tower complex featuring an industry-first Double TORNADO 60.

The project aimed to build smarter, not just bigger. All of its components, including its mega tower and magnetic propulsion, have been designed for optimised operations, enhanced visitor experience, and future growth.

Furthermore, the expansion demonstrates the longstanding collaboration between Chimelong and ProSlide, both recognised as leaders in the field dedicated to advancing the sector and setting new international benchmarks. Working in close partnership, the teams developed and delivered the project in just eight months, exemplifying their shared vision for precision, efficiency, and world-class execution.

The HydroMAGNETIC LIM Mammoth Water Coaster marks a significant leap forward for water ride technology. LIM technology debuted in 2017 with Krakatau at Universal’s Volcano Bay, and brings together magnetic propulsion technology with high-capacity, energy-efficient ride performance.

With ProSlide’s next-generation LIM experience, water parks can achieve faster launches, heavier payloads, and higher throughput than ever before.

“In an era where water park developments are reaching unprecedented scales, Chimelong’s expansion stands apart for its strategic, guest-centric approach,” says a spokesperson from ProSlide. “It’s a powerful reminder that true industry leadership is not about building the biggest attractions, it’s about building the best, with precision, purpose, and vision.”

ProSlide recently shared details of its LIM technology, which became the most talked-about attraction in the world’s most competitive water park market following its launch in 2017 and which makes its long-awaited return at Chimelong.
